Gin Collins Cocktails

Hey there, cocktail lovers! Welcome back to Just Shake or Stir. Today, we will explore two refreshing and delicious cocktails: the classic Tom Collins and a delightful twist, the Pear Elderflower Collins.

First, let's start with Tom Collins. This timeless cocktail has been a favourite for generations and is incredibly easy to make.


TOM COLLINS

  • 60ml / 2oz Dry London Gin

  • 30ml / 1oz Lemon Juice

  • 15ml / .5oz Sugar Syrup

  • Soda Water to top up

  • Lemon wheel and cherry for garnish

METHOD:

  1. Combine the gin, lemon juice, and sugar syrup in a shaker with ice.

  2. Shake well and strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice.

  3. Top with club soda and garnish with a lemon wheel and cherry.


Now, let's move on to our Pear Elderflower Collins. This delightful variation adds a touch of fruity sweetness and floral notes to the classic recipe.


PEAR ELDERFLOWER COLLINS

  • 1/2 Poached Pear with Lavender***

  • 15ml / .5oz Elderflower Liqueur

  • 5ml / Bar Spoon Pear Liqueur (optional)

  • 60ml / 2oz London Dry Gin

  • 5ml / .5oz Sugar Syrup (or honey syrup)

  • 30ml / 1oz Lemon Juice

  • 30ml / 1oz Pear & Lavender Sweet Water***

  • Soda Water to top up

METHOD:

  1. Combine the gin, pear & lavender sweet water, pear liqueur, elderflower liqueur, sugar syrup and lemon juice in a shaker with ice. 

  2. Shake well and strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice. 

  3. Top with club soda and garnish with a thin pear slice.
