Strawberry Fizz is deliciously easy to make and enjoy anytime when you need a refreshing tipple. The original cocktail is ‘Peachblow Fizz’ from the 1977 World Bartender Guide, and this is my riff. The original cocktail contains a tbs of heavy cream and simple syrup. However, I decided to skip the cream and use agave syrup for more sweetness and texture.
Strawberry Fizz any time of the year.
Since the cocktail is fruity and fresh, I thought the Fifty Pounds Gin is a perfect choice here. In my personal opinion, the gin handles very well fruity liqueurs without losing his character and taste. Using agave syrup improve the sweetness and push the strawberry flavour even more. You can use any Agave Syrup, but I recommend to try the Giffard Agave. Also, delicious Agave Syrup is the one made by The Groovy Food Company, a light, mild and most important organic syrup.
It is a Wonderfull fizz, straightforward to replicate in any home. The Fizz is very refreshing, tasty and pleasant balanced sour and sweet taste. If you decide to try to make sure you grab a quality Gin and most important one which handles fruity liqueurs or berries. Same for the liqueur. However, if you want to keep it only Gin based, you can use Strawberry Syrup. Be careful as the syrup is sweeter than liqueur and with agave syrup, in the recipe, you may need to amend the amount you are using.
Give it a go over the weekend. Best of all, you can pre-batch the mix, add some fresh strawberries in the jar and serve over ice with topping up soda to your test.
